Glastonbury without the mud

Glastonbury is now over but the BBC coverage is online. It includes videos of many of the acts, although sadly The Killers’ set isn’t online.
Although there was some controversy over the number of people they took to Glasto (around 280, compared to the total 137,000 paying attendees), the coverage they provided was watched by millions, it was well executed and more than justifies this number.
In addition to the videos, the BBC are also sharing some of their photos from the event on a special Flickr account they have created. It’s interesting the see the BBC sharing their content on Flickr, most companies/organisations try to fiercely guard their content. Hopefully they’ll eventually share their videos, too.
As usual, the BBC is breaking new ground: I can’t think of many other big organisations that could, or would be able to do something like that. One step forward..
Unique advertising

Skytypers create sky billboards: adverts 5 miles long that can be seen for 15 miles in any direction, nearly 400 miles in total. They have an extensive gallery of their past work (that I can’t link directly to, grr).
More and more companies are creating innovative, interesting and outlandish adverts, and in doing so are making their products, and advertising in general more appealing. Two great adverts at the moment are the Skoda Fabia advert, in which a car in created out of cake (great backstory), and the Absolut Vodka pillow fight protest. If only all companies were this innovative..
Jon Burgerman – On The Wall

Jon Burgerman is exhibiting On The Wall, a show of improvised wall drawings that “bleed beyond the hung frames”. Check out his site for pictures that show how the work developed.
It’s showing in Amsterdam between the 5th of May until the 16th June.
He also has lots of beautiful goodies in his shop.
